Under KTU it is mandatory that the Under Graduate level Engineering courses should encompass Mathematics up to the fourth semester; Engineering Physics, Engineering Chemistry, English & Language Lab in the first & second semesters; Business Economics and Life Skills in the third & fourth semesters. Applied Sciences Department works collaboratively to meet the competitive requirements of the engineering pupils.
The department vision is to evolve into a center of excellence in Science and Humanities.
The department mission is to provide the students with an excellent background in the fundamentals of Sciences and Humanities.
OBJECTIVES- The department objectives are:
INDIVIDUAL DISCIPLINE OBJECTIVES
The objective of the courses is to create engineers with strong mathematical background, creative thinking and problem solving skills, through systematic training and by discovering feasible solutions to challenging real world problems.
ENGINEERING PHYSICS & ENGINEERING CHEMISTRY
The study of physics and chemistry are inevitable part of all engineering streams. It helps the students to express their creativity and thereby contributing innovative ideas for the growing technology. The Department of Applied Sciences maintains two labs - Engineering Physics Lab and Engineering Chemistry Lab. These labs provide practical experiences on various engineering streams and mould the students to equip with the world of technology.
The objective of the course is to equip the students in relating their engineering ideas to market trends, to provide knowledge in identifying a proper market area where they can implement their own start-up ideas and to motivate the students in relating engineering knowledge to managerial economics.
LIFE SKILLS, COMMUNICATION SKILLS & LANGUAGE LAB
