Welcome to the Central Library and Information Center

The college library is well stocked with books related to engineering and technology; industry related and general topics. It also has latest magazines, news papers, national and international journals, reference books and other reading material. The library also owns its digital set up and a rich e-journal series enabling students’ access to knowledge world beyond geographical limits.

Our Book Collection exceeds 6228 volumes and 1024 Titles and continues to grow. The library aims to develop a comprehensive collection of documents useful for researchers, the faculty and the student community.

                 Central Library is located in the East Block of the College. The operations of the library are fully computerized with KOHA Library software.

Library Rules and Regulations

  • All users must observe total silence in the library and its environs at all times.

  • Identity Card is compulsory for getting access to the library

  • Dress code is compulsory

  • No personal belongings allowed inside the library

  • Textbooks, printed materials and issued books are not allowed to be taken inside the library

  • Using Mobile phones and audio instruments with or without speaker or headphone is strictly prohibited in the library premises.

  • Library borrower cards are not transferable. The borrower is responsible for the books borrowed on his/her card.

  • Enter your name and Sign in the register kept at the entrance counter before entering the library

  • Users are requested to verify the physical conditions of the book before borrowing.

  • Any misbehavior or non – return of books in time will lead to loss of library membership.

  • Users are required to switch off the lights and fans when not required or leaving the reading room.

  • Misuse of library facility is an offence and calls for punishment as decided by the competent authority.

  • Show the books and other materials which are being taken out of the library to the staff at the entrance counter

  • The librarian may recall any book from any member at any time and the member shall return the same immediately.

  • Refreshment of any kind shall not be taken anywhere in the library premises

  • Circulation Issue System : 

Books will be issued on presentation of the library card along with the ID card. Students are instructed to check the books while borrowing and they will be responsible for any type of damage or mutilation noticed at the time of return. 

  • Overdue Charges: 

Materials borrowed should be returned on or before the due date stamped, if returned late overdue fine will be charged for the delayed period. 

  • Book Lost : 

  • If the books are lost, then the borrower shall replace the books of the same edition or latest edition or pay double cost of the book along with overdue charges.

  • Care of Library Books: 

Students are require to handle the books/ Journal very carefully; marking with pencil , writing or highlighting , tearing the pages or mutilating the same in any other way will be viewed very seriously. In such case reader shall be held responsible unless these are brought to the notice of the library staff at the time of issue.  

  • Reference section : 

This section has Encyclopedia, dictionaries, Textbooks Reference books etc. which are only available for reference. User can make use of these resources.

  • Journal Section : 

In these section journals, general magazines and news letter are available. They are arranged alphabetically. The latest issues are displayed on display rack and other previous issues are arranged in the drawer. Bound volumes of periodicals are arranged in rack alphabetically and are meat only for reference within the library.

Clearance Certificate

  • All Users are requested to produce a non- liability certificate to the office from the library, to the effect that they have returned all the books and cleared all the dues before obtaining hall – ticket for the final examination or issue of Transfer Certificate , whichever is earlier / leaving the institute.

  • NLC will be issued only after clearing all the dues of the library and surrendering the Borrowers tickets issued from the library.

INTERNET SERVICE AT COMMON COMPUTER CENTRE

  • Internet facility is open for all students of this institution.

  • Identity card is required and should be exhibited visibly inside the Centre.

  • Students should enter their name and details in the register before browsing the internet

  • Students are advised to make use of this facility only for their academic activities.

  • Usage of internet services will be limited to ONE HOUR ONLY.

  • Walking, Standings inside the centre is not allowed

  • Using of Mobile phones, personnel Laptops are not allowed inside the centre.

  • PRIOR Permission to be obtained for using CD's and Pen drives.

  • Noise levels should be always at its LOW all times in the Centre.

  • Students must ensure the system is SHUTDOWN and also the Lights & Fans are power off mode after use.

  • Students must keep the centre clean and arrange the chairs properly after use

  • Additional facilitiesprivileges on services shall be provided on authorization from respective Tutors/ HODs.

Services

Circulation:

  • Students can borrow 3  books, 1 CD-ROM ,1 Journal for two weeks.

  • A borrowed book should be returned on or before the 14th day after the date of issue.

  • However a student can avail the facility of renewal (1 time). The book should be RENEWED before the due date itself.

Internet Facility: Library provides Internet facility to all students of this institutionStudents are advised to make use of this Facility only for their academic support.

Digital LibraryThe digital library provides question papers of the previous years, Teaching materials, project & seminar reports etc for students and staffs of this institution.

NPTEL(National program on technology enhanced learning):  Library subscribes NPTEL which is a joint initiative by all IITs and IISc containing web and video course contents for more than 230 engineering courses in 5 disciplines. NPTEL can be accessed @ http://nptel.ac.in/
