ABOUT VSSC

Student Welfare Committee commonly known as Vidya Student Support Cell (VSSC) in its effort to extend emotional support to the students and to equip the faculty to effectively counsel students. Interactions with students help to identify their strengths and weaknesses and provide guidanceaccordingly by the group tutor under the supervision of VSSC. They counsel the students periodically and submit reports to respective HODs. With the remarks from HODs, the department VSSC coordinator shares the details to VSSC chief coordinator who submits the consolidated report to the Principal.Group tutors encourage students to participate in various activities to boost up their confidence in academic and extracurricular activities.A lady professional counselor is available in the campus once in a week. Students, especially girl students feel comfortable to share their problems without any inhibitions. Students in need of counseling are identified by group tutors and directed to the counselor through respective HOD.

FUNCTIONS

• Group Tutors should closely monitor the regularity & performance of every student under him/her.
• Group Tutors should keep a file to record the continuous evaluation (academic as well as personal details) for each student under him/her.
• Group Tutors to meet every student personally once in two weeks and to update his\her status regularly.
• Group Tutors to meet every student after the publication of result (series test or university result) and counselling report to be made accordingly.
• Case of deviation of academic performance/ Shortages of attendance should be given special attention and to be brought to the notice of parents and VSSC coordinator.
• After series test those who require academic support are to be listed and action to be taken for remedial classes.
• After first & second series PTA meetings to be conducted for each classes. Appreciation for toppers in series examinations to be done during PTA meeting.
• Students with three or more subject’s failures should be given special counselling classes by the tutor or by the Counsellor as per the requirement.
• Group Tutors can meet the counsellor personally if they require any assistance while interacting with the students.
• Group Tutors of respective Classes should meet monthly.
• Monthly counseling report (soft copy) by Group Tutors to be submitted to Dept. VSSC coordinator as well as to the concerned HoDs.
• The Dept. Coordinators should submit the report to VSSC Chief Coordinator.
• The VSSC Chief coordinator to submit the final report to the Principal.
• Instructions regarding VSSC can be given to the coordinators or Group Tutors by VSSC Chief Coordinator or Principal with the copies to each other and to the HoDs.
