Internet Services

The institution has 316 computers spanned across various laboratories, departments, and administrative offices and they are connected to the internet. The infrastructure incorporates both wired & wireless networks connecting all the building blocks of the college. The Institution has the Internet facility 60 Mbps from Airtel  (Leased Line) & 40 Mbps from Asianet (Broadband). Available bandwidth is 100Mbps.

Firewall/Router

WAN connections and Campus Computer network are connected to Cisco RV350 Router.

Campus Area Network (Wired & Wireless)

Campus LAN with 1Gbps speed covers the entire campus area and networks are logically segregated using Virtual LANs. Segregation is accomplished with Cisco SG300. Series  manageable switches.

Campus WiFi

Wifi connectivity is available throughout the campus with the speed of 40Mbps. Wi-Fi access points are provided in the campus to access the network through personal laptops, gadgets, mobility devices etc.

Vidya ERP

Institution has its own Enterprise Resource Planning system and it is based on Open ERP, an open source based application. The ERP takes care of automating academic and administrative activities of the institution as well as other sister concerns of Vidya managed by the same management. Therefore this system helps to bring all institutions managed by VICT under the same hood.

Core Computer Lab

The institution has a Core computer Lab with 100 nos. of latest configuration computers, Core-i3. PCs with 4GB RAM. The computers are loaded with the latest operating systems, Windows 10 64 bit as well as Ubuntu 20.04 LTS Operating System. This lab is equipped with the latest application software to benefit the student community of various disciplines. Apart from that various academic departments are having their own computer labs in order to facilitate specific purpose computing requirements to their students.

Information Technology & Infrastructure Management System (ITIMS)

Information Technology & Infrastructure Management System is a group aiming to take over IT related services of the Institution. The primary responsibilities of ITIMS are:

• Design, management and maintenance of campus wide wired as well as wireless networks.
• Surveillance system design and management.
• Conduct of online examination using MOODLE.
• Student's feedback system.
• Design / maintain / troubleshoot hardware and software of various computer systems.
