Dr. Ansamma John is a distinguished academician currently serving as the Principal of Vidya Academy of Science and Technology Technical Campus She completed her Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science and Engineering from Kerala University in 1990, her Master of Technology in Computer Science and Information Technology from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur in 2000, and was awarded a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering by Kerala University in 2017.

She began her teaching career in 1993 at T.K.M College of Engineering and brings with her 33 years of extensive teaching and academic experience. Throughout her career, she has played a pivotal role in strengthening academic standards, curriculum development, and research culture. In addition to teaching and research, she has made significant contributions to academic administration and governance at both institutional and university levels, serving as Convener of the Board of Studies in Computer Science and Engineering at APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU), Member of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology at Kerala University, and as a member of various statutory bodies including the Board of Studies (PG) in Engineering and Computer Science and the Faculty of Applied Science of Kerala University, with a key role in syllabus revision committees that promoted curriculum modernization and outcome-based education. During her 33 years of service, she has held several leadership positions such as Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Dean (Undergraduate Studies), Dean (Research), and Vice Principal (Academics), and has also served as Head of the Centre for Quality and Ranking Framework and Convener of the Curriculum Committee for the autonomous curriculum implementation at TKMCE in 2023, significantly strengthening academic quality, governance processes, and institutional rankings. She has actively contributed to quality assurance initiatives, playing key roles in NBA accreditation (2016, 2019), NAAC accreditation (2016), and the Autonomy evaluation visit (2022). Her research interests include Text Mining, Image Mining, Biomedical Image Processing, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning, and she has published more than 15 papers in SCI/SCIE indexed journals and over 30 papers in national and international conferences, guided 25 M.Tech thesis, produced four Ph.D. scholars, and is currently supervising two doctoral candidates. She is a member of professional bodies such as ISTE, CSI, and the Institution of Engineers (India), and in recognition of her exemplary academic leadership, she received the “Best HOD of the Year – 2018” award from the Computer Society of India (CSI), Mumbai Chapter, at the Tech Next India 2018 Annual Industry–Academia Conference on Technology for Educational Transformation, and continues to serve as a dedicated educator, researcher, and academic leader committed to excellence in teaching, innovation in research, and holistic institutional development.
